Wrap them with Prayers.

Two days ago was such a day to remember, aside from DH's birthday , it was also Ash Wednesday. So before trooping over to celebrate his day, we dropped by the nearest church and had ashes on our forehead. The homily was very moving, it talked about humanity, spreading goodwill, positivity, healing and forgiveness, basically, making ourselves be Christ-like and His passion.

We went home after a full day of fun outside. DS was so tired so he went to sleep and I went to my laptop to check some emails and see if I still have energy to blog. I checked my Google Reader and that was when I discovered about the Grade 4 Atenean who passed away because of such a freaky and very tragic vehicular accident. I was so affected that since learning of this news, I always Google about it, follow stories of bloggers who were closely related to the families affected and checking TFC news every now and then. I used to live in Loyola Heights and knew how horrible traffic can be during rush hour in the long road of Katipunan. But, I cannot decipher how this accident happened in the premises of the school, the parking lot at that matter. It was also very timely as during DS' preschool prescreening interview, pick-up, drop-off and parking lot were discussed very seriously by the teacher who attended to us. They have very strict rules here when it comes to this matter.

As I was telling my mom about how affected and worried I was about this accident, I asked her how she survived (with my dad) in raising 3 kids because raising just one kid now is making me really worried every single hour especially when DS is not under my care. She told me to never let a day pass without praying for the safety of DS. Wrap your children with prayers. This reminds me to share with everyone about this beautiful book, The Power of a Praying Parent which was given to us by my Aunt L. This book teaches every parent that we can only protect our children up to a certain extent but wrapping and protecting them through prayers can go a long way.

Let us all pray for the family and friends that Amiel Alcantara have left behind as well as the mom who drove the van that allegedly hit Amiel and her children who are all in such difficult time.
